A mentally and physically demanding summer camp that further develops leadership skills, build self-discipline, demands teamwork. Training occurs the first week of June and includes overnight stays located in Kentucky. Cadets work with other cadets from across the district to become cohesive team to accomplish various demanding tasks.
The training day begins at 0530 and lights out is at 2200. Cadets are provided 3 meals a day and a provided male/female separated sleeping areas. Training is voluntary and there is no cost to attend. Cadets are supervised by JRTOC instructors 24/7 to ensure safety.
Cadets participate in a variety of training such as drown proofing, rappelling, land navigation, leadership reaction course, aquatics, and drill and ceremony and other team building activities.
Cadets are selected for attendance at JCLC based on the listed requirements as well as future leadership potential within the program. Priority is typically given to upper LET levels but cadets at all levels are considered and have attended.
Cadets who are have a desire to attend should speak with their instructors early and often!
