Army JROTC offers a variety of teams open to every cadet, each designed to build skills that go beyond the classroom. These teams challenge cadets to grow in leadership, decision-making, discipline, physical fitness, mental toughness, and service to others. The Air Rifle Team is an Olympic style shooting team that tests cadet discipline and precision. Team members push their abilities through virtual and shoulder to shoulder matches.
Air Rifle is a mentally tough sport that tests each competitors focus, skills, and mental toughness during marksmanship competitions. All matches are sanctioned by the U.S. Army Cadet Command and the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Competitions typically include shooting in the standing, prone, and kneeling positions, and can be held at the school virtually through the Orion Scoring System or Shoulder to Shoulder Matches against other Air Rifle Teams.
