Clover High School recognizes that each senior is preparing for a unique path after high school. We allow seniors, who have earned at least 18 credits, some flexibility in their senior year schedule.
Guidelines:
A senior planning to graduate in May must enroll in a minimum of 6 credit bearing courses.
A senior planning to graduate in December must complete an application and enroll in a minimum of 3 credit-bearing courses.
Students will be required to shadow and complete an internship off campus. Students must have a valid driver’s license or parents must make transportation arrangements. Students acquire practical skills by being exposed to the reality of the world of work beyond the boundaries of the classroom, enhancing self-confidence and career direction. A variety of options are available, but each opportunity must be approved by the Career Exploratory instructor. Students must complete at least 120 hours at their job placement, including a final paper, and a daily time sheet. Also, the student’s immediate supervisor at the work placement and the course instructor will evaluate them. A grade will be assigned.

Winter Graduation - Grade 12
Seniors who need four or fewer credits may decide to graduate from Clover High School in December of their senior year. With parent approval, the senior must complete the application before the end of 11th grade to plan for the next school year and schedule classes in the first semester. Winter Graduation is not guaranteed, as it will depend on the availability of the necessary coursework.
Winter Graduation is a separate ceremony held in the auditorium. Graduating at an alternate time DOES impact state scholarship eligibility. In addition, students who graduate in December will become alumni of Clover High School. Therefore, they will not be included in ticket sales for Prom, offers of the senior trip, and other spring Senior activities.
Read the application carefully and discuss this decision with your family. There are many opportunities at Clover High School, such as dual enrollment coursework, internships, and the career exploratory class, that could be beneficial for the spring semester of the senior year.
