Media Technology 2 (Video Production 2) - 1 Unit - Grades 10-12

College Preparatory

Prerequisites: Media Tech 1

This class emphasizes advanced video production skills that build upon the basic skills learned in Media Tech 1. Students will learn how to produce a variety of videos, including music videos and short films. Editing is taught using Final Cut Pro.

Media Technology 3  H (Video Production 3) - 1 Unit - Grades 11-12

Honors

Prerequisites: 80% or higher in Media Tech 1 and 2

In Media 3, students will apply skills learned in Media Tech 1 and 2 in related fields such as radio, broadcast news, video production and film.  Students will get hands-on experience in video production and interview techniques for the news, video and film industries. They will learn how to use industry-standard equipment and will develop skills including writing, directing, producing, and editing video pieces of increasing complexity using the Adobe Premier editing software.

Media Technology 4 H (Video Production 4) - 1 Unit - Grades 11-12

Honors

Prerequisites: 80% or higher in Media Tech 3

In Media 4, students will extend concepts taught in Media Tech 1, 2 and 3 in related fields such as radio, broadcast news, video production and film. Students will get hands-on experience in production techniques for broadcast news, film and corporate and online production. They will learn how to use industry-standard equipment and will develop skills including writing, directing, producing, and editing video pieces of increasing complexity.  Students will build upon their knowledge of the Adobe Premier editing software and complete and video resume.
