Space Exploration Activity

You have learned so much about space this week! You have learned about people and things that make going to space possible. You have also learned about the 8 planets. Now that you have information, we want you to form an opinion, by combining these two focuses.

Out of all eight planets, and Pluto the dwarf planet, which one would you most like to visit if it was possible? (Just don't pick Earth, since you've already visited that planet :) If you were an astronaut and the technology to go to this planet existed and it was completely safe for you? Why? What would you like to see and learn about? What facts about this planet would you like to explore? What questions would you like answered about this planet?

Use the videos below to help you find more facts. We highly recommend the Magic School Bus episode, as they go to space. Also go back to the Week 8 page on reading to learn even more things about the planets.

Write an opinion about the place in space you'd like to visit. Use lots of details, and make it at least 5 sentences long. Then create a picture of you on that planet.
