Please read the following special notes to help you with your day.
NEW TO WESTWOOD? Please take time during arrival and the first class at 8:40 to familiarize yourself with the building: washrooms, Green (music, Kindergarten), Blue (2C, 2F, 3E), Red (Grade 1) and Yellow (2A, 3B, 3D) Hollows, Library, Gym
Homeroom teachers bring classes to music. They line up outside the door and wait to be called in. The teacher will pick them up again at the end of music.
Students have their own spot. The seating chart is with each class list in the black duotang on the music stand. Use this to help with names. Names games with instruments really helpful and good practice for them.
Class rewards. If the class went smoothly, they earn a letter to build the word music. When they do, they choose a special activity (approx 5 minutes) at the end of class.
Medic Alert
Medic Alert forms are on the wall. Please take time to familiarize yourself with these students and protocol.
If you hear Code WESTY JM or CP "Shelter in place", please keep the students in the room and carry on with activities until further instructed.
KA - Colson Murley - prone to seizure. Please see the Emergency Medical Plan next to the cabinet above the sink.
1A - Caleb Pollard is in a wheelchair and has a Student Attendant and EA with him. Please read over the Emergency Medical Plan binder. If you hear Code WESTY CP, it means Caleb is having a medical emergency. if you are teaching 1A, please take them back to class after music and one of the resource teachers will meet you there.
1G - Raeya CQuaid - febrile seizures triggered by fever or excessive heat. Please refer to the Emergency Response Plan taped to the side of the cabinet above the sink.
Day 1 - KJ has music at 11:00 and their recess is at 11:30. Please take them down 5-10 minutes early to get them ready for recess so Mme. Elizabeth can have her prep.
Duty is on Days 3 and 5. Please familiarize yourself with Playground Rules (click to read) to help keep everyone safe. There is a duty vest on the book by the door which must be warn at all times when outside.
