It is that wonderful time of the year. The Grade 3’s are learning how play the recorder. This is going to be so much fun!!!!

 All students were asked to purchase a recorder and music booklet earlier in the year.

 The cost is $10 for the set. If you have not purchased the recorder and booklet yet you can still order one. Please send along a note indicating that the money is for recorder and booklet. Grade 3 students must first purchase the recorder and booklet before they receive their recorder. There are 3 reasons why we require students to buy: 1. There is no sharing of instruments. It is healthier for each student to have their own instrument. 2. Not all recorders are created equal. We have ordered quality instruments. 3. It becomes a souvenir and their own personal musical instrument. 

When the students master a song, they receive a “belt” to decorate their recorder. As we start to learn to play, we will be keeping the instruments at school until students have control over the basics. When they do bring their recorder home, please encourage your child to practice! Please remind them to put their instrument back in their kit bag as they will need it in school for music class.
