MVHS Dance Company
This is my second full year at Clint ISD. Growing up the performing arts have always been a passion for me. I was only able to participate in them at school while growing up and that pushes my drive now as a teacher in the public schools. It pushes me to offer the best programs possible for my students. I started my studies in the fine arts in high school and continued into college at UTEP. There I studied Musical Theater and Dance for my undergraduate degree. I was able to flourish and develop a strong foundation in the performing arts. Upon graduation I applied to Grad school and was accepted into New York University Steinhardt's Master of Arts Teaching Dance in Professions: ABT Pedagogy. There I learned leading research in dance pedagogy from world renowned dance professionals. I was able to take numerous various classes and workshops while living in NYC as well. I moved back home shortly after graduation to spread what I learned and my love for the performing arts. Currently, I teach three sections of dance at the EMMS. This year I will be establishing a dance team at the middle school as well. At MVHS I teach two sections of dance, a section of theater and also a dual credit dance appreciation class. I also direct the MVHS Dance Company and The Howlin' Wolf Theater company whom both perform and compete throughout the school year.
