USING RARE BUCKS

A- PRAISE TICKETS/RARE BUCKS

Praise Tickets can be used by students in the following 2 ways:

1. To take part in our school RAFFLE

OR

2. To TRADE-IN for other school incentives/rewards.

Choice 1-Raffles

Procedures for Weekly Raffle

Students can place their RARE BUCKS in their CLASSROOM bin, if they want to enter the school raffle. They must make sure to write their FULL NAME on the ticket along with their class section, before dropping it in. Each Friday, our RARE ambassadors will come around and empty the CLASSROOM bins into the School 11 WEEKLY collection bins. Grades K, 3, 4, & 5 will have individual bins per grade and grades 1&2 will have one bin to share.
The weekly raffle will occur on Fridays ( either at lunch or during our morning lineups-both inside)
Students will be able to hear their name announced if their "RARE BUCK" is chosen. Each winner will have the opportunity to go up on the stage and choose their prize. Any winner who is absent, will be contacted upon their return.
Students whose RARE BUCK was picked from the weekly raffle will have a choice to make. They can either spin the prize wheel for an incentive OR choose to collect a "bundle " of RARE BUCKS instead. This "bundle" will consist of 10 RARE BUCKS for the weekly drawing and 20 RARE BUCKS for the monthly drawing. Bundles can help students obtain enough RARE BUCKS to purchase a pass they might be saving up for, attend a social event in school, or just increase their odds at winning the monthly/yearly raffle.
Passes that can be purchased with RARE bucks are discussed further under TRADE IN.

Procedures for Monthly Raffle:

Weekly bins will be emptied into the monthly bins, following each Friday drawing.
Like the weekly raffle, grades K, 3, 4, & 5 will have individual bins per grade and grades 1&2 will have one bin to share.
The monthly raffle will typically occur on the last Friday of each month.
Similar to the weekly drawing, students will see the raffle during lunch or at the morning line ups. If they are absent they will be notified upon return.
Students whose RARE BUCK was picked from the monthly raffle will have a choice to make. They can either spin the prize wheel for an incentive OR choose to collect a "bundle " of RARE BUCKS instead. This "bundle" will consist of 20 RARE BUCKS for the monthly drawing. Bundles can help students obtain enough RARE BUCKS to purchase a pass they might be saving up for, attend a social event in school, or just increase their odds at winning the yearly raffle.
Students who choose to spin the wheel, will be given the monthly prize wheel. This wheel has more valuable items than the weekly wheel and much better odds at specific prizes.

*After the monthly drawing the tickets get emptied into the YEARLY bin. Like the weekly and monthly raffle, grades K, 3, 4, & 5 will have individual bins per grade and grades 1&2 will have one bin to share. There will be a yearly raffle during the last week of school.Prize TBA.

2. Trade In's

Procedures for Ticket Trade-in

Students will be able to purchase certain passes/incentives with their RARE BUCKS.
They will do this by going up to the RARE table during lunch.
This table will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays and run by the RARE ambassadors (students).
Students will hand in the correct amount of RARE BUCKS and receive a pass/ incentive of their choice to use in class.
If their pass is lost they will not get another one.
No returns will be accepted.
The passes will be at the teacher's discretion, we ask that each teacher informs their classes as to what they can use the passes on and what they can not. As an example, my students were told that they could use a HW pass on any work that was done at home (meaning started at home and finished at home) except for study guides and reviews for tests/quizzes.
A menu will be hung up as to what they can purchase and how much that incentive is. We will also post everything the students need to know on the RARE Student Google Classroom.
