Warm up activities.
1. Shortest to tallest
Everyone stand up and move to the front of the room. Get in a line across the room where the classifier is height - from shortest to tallest, with the shortest person nearest the door to the corridor.
2. Birthday order
Now re-position yourselves according to the order of birthdays in any year - from the last birthday in any year to the first birthday in any year, with the last birthday nearest the door to the corridor.
3. Number heads
3 players will stand in front of the whiteboard. Teacher will write three numbers above their heads that they cannot see.
Each player will ask the class Yes/No questions about their number until they get a No answer. When they get a No answer it is the next person's turn to ask questions.
Sample questions:
The winner is the first person to correctly guess their number.
4. 3 rolls to make 100
Each player needs a pencil and paper. The teacher needs 2 dice. The goal of the game is to make 100 with 3 dice rolls. The winner is the person closest to 100.
I will roll the dice and give you the two digits. You choose which order to use them in - for example - if I roll a 5 and a 2 you can use them as 25 or 52.
Who has the number closest to 100?
5. Have I got enough to buy?
