Support the development of numeracy skills

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to implement numeracy programs, as identified by the teacher, to assist students requiring additional numeracy support.

For CHCEDS006 there are two assessment tasks, one done in class and one done on work placement

Work through the elements of the units, in order, to ensure that you have the knowledge and skills to support the learning of numeracy and mathematics in the school environment.

First you will learn more about 'What is numeracy?' and 'What is mathematics?'

The elements for CHCEDS006 then include:

1. Apply developmental and learning approaches to basic numeracy skills under supervision of teacher

2. Implement a numeracy support program

3. Support student numeracy programs
