This outline is the day-to-day breakdown of my unit on Genetics. Each day includes an assessment to use with the students, and the last day is dedicated to a summative assessment where students have to use their knowledge to answer questions.
This rubric is used for a summative project on cell organelles. The students were tasked with researching an organelle and making a 'wanted' poster for it. They had to use their creative skills to personify the organelle, all while telling the viewers where it is located, what it does, and how it helps the cell. The students really enjoy this project and it forces them to really understand the function of an organelle. They can't just copy information, they need to learn it and then spin it in a creative way to make the 'wanted' poster.
