This portfolio is a culmination of all the things I learned and the work I did for my Masters in Education degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, NE. This small collection is the work that I am most proud of throughout the program, within it, you will find highlights and see a variety of resources that can be used in the classroom. These classes and projects pushed me to become a more reflective teacher and through that, I am improving my craft.
I have been teaching Middle School for 11 years. I have taught several different subjects but my true passion is in Science. I am curious and love to discover new things about the world around me. This curiosity is something I show my students every day and help them build their own curiosity about our world! I love teaching and getting to know my students and I love watching them grow as people and scientists.
I was born and raised in Colorado but became a Lincolnite when my husband and I moved out here for the opportunity to teach. We have settled and really enjoy the 'Lincoln' way of life. I have two kids, ages 6 and 4, so they keep me quite busy. I also have a dog and two cats.
I would like to acknowledge and thank my family, my cohort, my colleagues and students at Pound Middle School, and my NWU professors for supporting and encouraging me throughout this process. I couldn't have done this without you.
