Images for Projects

Description: Explore is Google's new search button that is located at the bottom right corner of any Google Doc or Google Slide (look for the star inside a box). There is no website to visit or extention to add for this to work, just click on it. Essentially it puts a small Google search window inside your Doc or Slide so you don't have to keep switching screens to do research or look for images while you are working on your project. The best part is that all the images found in the Google search using the Explore button are labeled for commercial reuse with modification. That means that students can use them in their projects with minimal restrictions.

Compatible Devices: Chrome browser

Tips: The Explore button only works in Google Docs and Google Slides. Click here to see a tutorial.

Description: Safe Search Kids is powered by Google SafeSearch and is part of KidzSearch. They use filters to show only pictures that are staff for student use. It will provide photos and clip art images based on your search wording (ex. Wolf photo vs. Wolf clip art).

Compatible Devices: Chrome browser and iPads (not an app)

Tips: On a Chromebook, save the image to your Google Drive then upload it to your project. On an iPad, hold down on the image for 2 seconds and click "Save Image" to add it to your camera roll or use the save to Google Drive option.
