Rainbow Butterfly
Just in time for Spring! Make a bright and colorful rainbow butterfly craft.
Here's what you'll need:
Cardstock or construction paper (many colors)
Scissors
Glue
Black Pen
Optional- Cupcake Liners
Directions:
Step 1:
Cut out circle for body of butterfly.
(You could use lid or cup to trace circle before cutting)
Step 2:
Cut thin strips of paper.
Layer and glue strips on circle.
Leave about an inch open at the top of the circle.
Step 3:
Use scissors to trim around circle and cut off overhanging paper strips.
Step 4:
Cut two white circles and two smaller black circles for eyes.
Glue the black circles on the white circles.
Glue the eyes on the top of the circle.
Step 5:
Cut two black strips for antennae.
Hole punch or cut two black circles for top of antennae.
Glue circles on strips.
Glue strips to back of butterfly head (near the eyes).
Step 6 (Almost Done):
Cut out two pair of ovals for the wings (a larger pair and a smaller pair).
Optional: If you have cupcake liners- fold the liner in half, cut out wing shape, and cut on fold line to create a pair of wings. Repeat process to make smaller pair of wings.
Glue wings on back of butterfly body.
Step 7 (You are at the end!):
Use the black marker to add a smile to your butterfly.
Your butterfly is finished!
