Chosen Question: Justification
I have chosen to pick the question 'Thrillers: How Is Suspense Maximized?'. The main reason for my decision, is due to my final major project. For my final major project, it is likely that I will be developing a product, which will have the tropes of a suspenseful thriller integrated. So, because of this, I believe that researching and writing about this question is the most beneficial for my final major project. I also believe that there is more of a range to cover/explore with this question, there is a lot to analyse with each chapter. The practitioners, Alfred Hitchcock and David Fincher also have an impact, as these are practitioners that I believe can inform me most effectively in this instance, in terms of their styles, tropes and methods. Overall, I believe that this is the correct decision, due to how effectively this question could impact my final major project.

First Draft Of Essay
This is the first draft of my essay. This essay has been the result of research undertaken in preparation, looking at the genre itself, two practitioners, relevant genre theories, and two relevant film scenes. While writing this first draft, I have certainly learnt more about the suspense genre, and how exactly suspense is created for the purpose of film. I believe that the research leading up to this, as well as the essay so far, has helped inform me on how I could possibly integrate suspense into my final major project.
Now, I will be having a meeting with Danny, where he will look at my first draft. After looking at the first draft, me and Danny will both look through the areas to improve on, and what to do next. Having a lecturer look at your intial draft, as well as critique it is important, and helpful with guiding you for what to do next with the essay.
