Secondary Research
The secondary research process of this project is crucial, as it gives us an opportunity to discover the audiences that are associated with similar show ideas, and their characteristics. Being able to understand some fundamentals about similar audiences to our projected production, is a very beneficial form of research, to build a closer understanding of our broadcasts audience. This is a good way to to prepare for the undertaking of primary research.

Initial creation of ideas

I believe 'The Big Picture' was a relevant show to research, to understand the characteristics of a similar audience, with the show also sharing similarities in theme and context.

The BBC's 'The Film Review' was chosen due to it's noticeable differences to 'The Big Picture', it was a great choice to highlight a more formal and traditional approach to presenting, and the articulation of themes.
Primary Research

For primary research, we created a survey on Google forms titled 'Ideas for college review show'. This survey is crucial for the understanding of the audience, being able to directly find out information about the audience, their ages, preferences and experience with TV shows. This information is very important for the progression of the project. Live form, as well as form results are found below.

Discovering exactly who the audience is for both 'The Big Picture' and 'The Film Review' is an important step to take in the research process. This help us develop our audience, and establish their similarities between these two examples. It also makes us question what exactly we would like to intergrade unto our show, from the two examples. We can see what works well and what doesn't, and whether these things could potentially be effective in our product.
The importance of undertaking secondary, and primary research.
Proposal
This is the proposal for our idea. It covers the shows title, format and technical considerations, duration, genre, synopsis, characters, locations, style, and intended audience. This helps us simply summaries what our show is, what it's about, what it will include, and who it's for.
Research Findings Pitch

After developing ideas, and establishing the audience, this pitch gave us the opportunity to show our research findings. Being able to pitch our idea, and receive advise and critiquing, gives us an understanding of the effectiveness of our idea, and what it offers to the overall TV show broadcast.
