Dispatch Japanese education advisors to Teacher Training Colleges,
aiming to improve the quality of teachers
In the "Nurturing Teacher" project, we dispatch experienced Japanese teachers as educational advisors with the goal of enhancing the capabilities of Cambodian instructors at Teacher Training Centres(TTC).
Focusing primarily on science and mathematics subjects, we do not directly teach students at the teacher training colleges. Instead, we support the Cambodian instructors so they can provide high-quality instruction to their students, who are aspiring teachers.

Feedback from Beneficiaries
Instructor for Primary School Teacher at Svay Rieng Provincial Teacher Training Centre (Mathematics)
The mathematics teaching guide created by our advisor is extremely important. Some teachers used to say that teaching fractions to elementary students was difficult, but this guide details the concepts of fractions, appropriate teaching materials and tools, and how to use them. It is truly helpful for teaching in a more understandable way. Since mathematics is an important subject in elementary education, I hope to research and study more to improve my own abilities and contribute to the nation's development through human resource development.

By utilizing "Review Notebooks", we have become able to assess students' level of understanding and their learning needs. It also serves as a reflection for the teachers themselves and contributes to the improvement of our lessons. Since we are using them not only at the teacher training centre but also partially at the elementary school, the students at the training centre (future teachers) are also learning about the learning progress and needs of the elementary school children, which is becoming part of their own learning. Currently, we are only using them in some schools, but we would like to expand this practice further. Furthermore, we intend to evaluate this initiative going forward so that we can implement it more effectively.
