DESI
I currently co-chair the EPO committee (2025-), and have been part of it since 2024. Some of my roles have been distributing the planetarium film in Mexico and Latin America and planning dedicated events with DESI scientists, and making contents for social media.
I have also contributed to the DESI website translating several sections to Spanish and Catalan, and translating many of the interviews in the section "Meet a DESI Member" to Spanish. I have also co-organized two Noche de las Estrellas booths in UNAM (main venue)
DESI High is a set of introductory notebooks to the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) for High-school students, where they can run their own experiments with real DESI data.
My contributions have been:
Translation of contents to Spanish
Participation as tutor in all DESI High events (English and Spanish)
Presented the project in Noche de las Estrellas 2021.
I was a co-organizer and instructor in the event.Presentation of the project with Girls Who Code
I am working on a vlog about my experience as a DESI observer at Kitt Peak National Observatory with footage that I was able to take when I observed for two weeks at the Mayall.
This project was paused during the sanitary emergency in 2020, and it's now getting back on track.
