23-24 Spring Break Theater Week

Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, The Goodman, and The Understudy are all collaborating to bring 

FREE workshops 

and discounted theatre programming to Chicago teens during the week of CPS Spring Break. 

Sign up for any or all--learn from the professionals! 

Any and all Chicagoland teens are welcome to participate, including non-CPS students!

All workshops will take place at their respective institutions from 4:30-6:30pm. Please share this exciting opportunity with your students and school personnel. See the flyers attached for more information.

Monday, March 25th - Production Workshop @ Chicago Shakespeare Theater

In this Production Workshop, teens will  choose between three specialized sessions with Chicago Shakespeare Theater Staff: Sound and Lighting, Properties and Scenic, or Costumes and Wigs.

Wednesday, March 27th - Writing Workshop @ Steppenwolf Theatre

Join Steppenwolf Theatre and Chicago playwright Omer Abbas Salem in an exciting workshop where he takes you into his process, gives you tips and tricks, and guides you in generating some of your own material!

$5 student tickets available to this theatre's evening show, Purpose, following the workshop.

Thursday, March 28th - Movement Workshop @ Goodman Theatre

Explore the world of Viewpoints and physical storytelling in this hands-on theatrical movement workshop, hosted by the Goodman‘s Education and Engagement team! Discover new strategies that will help you amplify your emotional presence on stage, connect with your audience like never before, and take your performances to the next level!

$5 student tickets available to this theatre's evening show, The Penelopiad, following the workshop.

Friday, March 29th - Teen Mixer @ The Understudy

Come meet fellow teen theatre makers and appreciators for a free beverage at the coolest theatre bookstore and café in Andersonville. Staff members from Steppenwolf, CST, and The Goodman will be there to talk about our teen programs, free and discounted tickets, and other ways you can engage!
