As a Society and Eco Club, we are working with the CHS-wide Eco Committee and with the CHS Junior School Eco Group on maintaining their Eco Schools Green Flag status .
The Eco Schools Green Flag is a widely recognised and prestigious award that displays a school's dedication to drive change and improve environmental awareness. Read more about the scheme by clicking the link to the left!

WASTE Awareness WEEK in January!
On the Eco Committee, we held a Waste Awareness Week campaign, which was a week dedicated to reducing waste and litter at CHS. Our poster is attached beneath to show what happened during the week.
CHS Eco-Con
Cheadle Hulme School are going to host their very own Eco-Con. We hope that this will be an annual event for the Eco-Committee. It will run as a community event to bring local schools, families and local communities together - to empower action, inspire ideas, and sustain small changes in everyday life so that we all play our part in positive changes to tackle environmental issues. It will happen on Saturday 18th March.
The Legacy of the Eco-Committee 2021/22
TerraCycle is an organisation that collects and recycles items that are not typically recycled by other waste management services.
We have two Terracycle bins set up in the school for recycling writing instruments, as well as some other pieces of stationery. One bin can be found at the bottom of the Geography stairs, and the other is in the Sixth Form Centre in the silent study zone.
Eco Schools Updates:
FOCUS AREAS: Energy, Waste, Litter
These focus areas are the 3 topics we have chosen to focus our efforts on in line with the Eco Schools criteria. We chose these topics using the Environmental Review which was carried out by the Sixth Form Eco Society and Senior School Eco Representatives.
Status: Step 4/5 - Curriculum Links/ Informing and Involving - 21/03/2022
Having created an action plan we are in the process of making links to the curriculum so that students at CHS can learn about important environmental topics. For step 5, we are aiming to involve the wider school community in eco-projects and actions. We are using campaigns like our Waste Week to do this.
