Here are our top tips for Going Green on the School Run...

• Ditch the car and try the home-to school coach services for free! Contact Elite's School Transport team (0161 480 0617) to discuss a free trial across all of their services.

• Cut down on fuel by using the Drop and Shop or Park and Ride - to find the most convient stop on our services type a postcode into this Google Map or speak to the team at Elite about pick up points near Hazel Grove Park and Ride, Train Stations / Bus Stations, or even your nearest Booths / Tesco / Morrisons.

• Enjoy the benefits of a short walk along Hulme Hall Road to the School crossings by using the Park and Stride at the Hesketh between 8-8.40am and 2.45-3.45pm.

• Reduce the number of cars on the road by signing up to the pupil/parent car share scheme - this can also reduce traffic congestion - resulting in shorter journeys for everyone.

• Reduced congestion and pollution around the school gates by using the Wraparound Care services from 7.30am and until 6pm. 

• Use the public bus service or trains - the nearest public bus stops are on Church Road and Gillbent Road which is a 4½ minute walk from the School Lane entrance.

• We all know that excerice boosts our physical and mental health and wellbeing - why not walk, scoot and cycle to school one day a week?

• If you do find yourself driving to school - an idling engine can produce up to twice as many exhaust emissions as an engine in motion -  the key, be idle free!
