Racism has no place in sport, and after witnessing the racism towards English players after the Euros we decided that this issue is something we were passionate about addressing. We created assemblies for all years to watch that taught them about racism, and specifically the aim and purpose of 'Show Racism the Red Card'. We asked students to 'Wear Red' in response to the racism in sport, and we were thrilled with the support we received from the CHS community. Thank you so much to everyone who participated and engaged with our campaign.
Our Next Steps:
We want to send a clear message to represent our CHS Community's intolerance for racism, so we want to be putting up a banner on the Astro to be a permanent reminder in sports fixtures and training.
Our society is committed and passionate about initiating ideas in order to acknowledge and celebrate the diversity within our community.
Over the coming months we are focusing on developing educational resources to help combat homophobia, and would love to hear your ideas! Please come to one of our weekly meetings to make your voice heard, or alternatively feel free to fill in our designated discussion box! We are also looking for LGBTQ+ charities to support over the coming months; please let us know if you have any which you wish to put forward
