Think before you post! One important goal of being a responsible digital citizen is to promote a positive self-image online. Ask these questions:
Would you want your parents to see or read what's online about you?
Will this affect your future career?
Would this hurt anyone's feelings?
How do you want to be seen by others?
How would you feel if someone posted something negative about you?
How can you create positive and uplifting content online?
Your Digital Footprints will follow you throughout your life. Are your digital footprints impacting your life positively or negatively?
Why is it important to have Media Balance? Are you using devices in a way that feels healthy, stress-free, and balanced?
Are you alert in regards to your personal safety online? Giving or posting too much information online can be a danger to minors. Follow these rules:
Protect your identity - never give out your real name, post pictures, or tell where you live or go to school.
People on the Internet may not be who they say they are.
Follow rules when communicating in an online space such as a chat room, game chat, classroom learning space, social media, etc.
Do not let your guard down.
Tell your parents, teacher, or other trusted adult when you see or read something that makes you feel uncomfortable.
