About Two to Three Days before your first online class, an "You are invited to a Zoom meeting" email, will be sent to the student's preferred gmail address (as stated on your registration form). Please "register" with your preferred gmail for the Zoom class in advance.
Students will receive one invitation email "per course". You only need to register with Zoom only "once" per course.
Click on the link to register to Zoom with the student's full name and gmail address as stated on your registration form.
After registration, you will receive a "Confirmation" email from "zoom.us", containing information with a link "click here to join".
At scheduled class time, students can just click on the "click here to join" link in the confirmation email, and follow the instructions (either select "Open Zoom Meetings" or "download and run Zoom") to sign onto the online classes.
Use the same "click here to join" link in the confirmation email to join the online classes at scheduled class time, on each Saturday for the WHOLE school year.
Please note, CHELP does not have copy of your confirmation email from Zoom. Please ensure to safe keep and reuse the same class link in your confirmation email for all your Saturday classes for the whole school year.
The class link is for the registered student's private use ONLY. Students/parents are NOT allowed to post/send/share it with anyone else !
When joining online class for the first time, students would have to download the Zoom App, in order to join online. Students should join the class few minutes earlier to ensure all the setups are done properly ahead of time.
Or Students can download the Zoom App ahead of time. Please use the download link provided in “System requirements” section below.
If you are not able to download, install or run applications on your device, you can use the "Join from your browser" link in the confirmation email, to join directly from your web browser. But online features will be limited, and you would have to sign up for a (free) Zoom account.
Homework and classwork/note (if applicable):
will be emailed to the student’s preferred gmail address about 2 days before each of the online Saturday class session.
Students must access the homework/classwork/note with the preferred gmail address which "received" the work only, can NOT use any other email address to access.
Homework/classwork/note are send thru Google drive weekly, and it ONLY make available for 4 weeks, students must access within 4 weeks upon receiving.
The classwork/note (if applicable) is for students to use during the online class session.
The homework is for students to do after the online class, and is due one week after the Saturday class.
The note/classwork/homework received from CHELP is for the registered student's private use ONLY. Students/parents are not allowed to send/share it with anyone else.
In order to learn properly, students should do their homework weekly after the Saturday's lesson. Teachers will provide instructions on the homework submission process in class. Late homework submission after 4 weeks will not be marked.
At each online class session, teacher will teach new material, answer questions and review/explain some of the answers of the previous week's homework.
By reviewing the previous week's homework answers in class with teacher, it will enforce the students to review the homework's questions and answers in details, and to get a better understanding.
The online class is for the registered student's private use only, due to privacy issue, students/parents are not allowed to tap/record the online class session.
Please add no-reply@chelpschool.com and request@chelpschool.com email addresses to your email address book, to prevent CHELP emails from going into your junk/spam email folder.
If CHELP does not receive the registration on time, students may miss classes, and there are no make-up classes available.
The online class is for the registered students only, who received the online class invite from CHELP, other person is not allowed to attend, except for parents with the registered students under the age of 7. But parents are NOT allowed to show on camera to disturb the class.
Students/parents are NOT allowed to forward/share their online class invite with other persons.
For security reason and better learning experience, ALL students MUST attend the online classes with their camera ON.
Students/parents are also NOT allowed to forward/share their note/classwork/homework with other persons.
The online class is for the registered student's private use only, students/parents are not allowed to tap/record the online class session.
Students must register in advance with Zoom, and sign in the online class using their full name as registered with CHELP. This is for security and privacy reason, so CHELP can ensure no uninvited person joins the class. Teacher will NOT allow anyone with name not on the CHELP class list to join the class.
Students must dress appropriately, and younger students under age of 7 should be supervised by parents.
Students should join the class at least 2 minutes before class time, and wait for the teacher (host) to start the class.
Students MUST join the online class with camera ON, so students can interact with the teacher better.
Students must have their camera on when communicate with teachers, specially for attendance and to show homework is done.
On mini test and Exam days, students must join the online class with camera on.
During class time all students’ speakers must stay mute (speaker off) until teacher asks the students to participate.
Students must follow the teacher’s direction and guidelines during the online session.
Parents are responsible to ensure that students stay focused and pay attention during online class time, and to do their homework properly and on time weekly. Late homework submission after 4 weeks will not be marked.
Parents/students must verify and ensure that their equipment and setup of email address, computer, video, audio (speaker and microphone) and internet are working ahead of time.
If the parents decide to “sit in” with the students for the online class, which is allowed for students under age of 7 only, parents are not allowed to show on camera, not to interrupt or to disturb to the class, because this is unfair to other students. Teacher has the right to mute (turn off) the speaker, or turn off the video, or remove any student (and parent) from class immediately without notice, especially if the student or parent (or their background) are being disruptive, or not following the teacher’s instructions, or not dressed appropriately.
The online class session may pause and stop due to an internet issue or technical issue, students should be patient and stand by, to wait for the session to resume.
CHELP will be using Zoom service to operate the Online classes, and Google drive for the note/classwork/homework.
