Understanding the CHELP levels / material
The number of CHELP school’s levels are less than the Day school, so the CHELP material is more advanced and concentrated.
For the Math program, CHELP only have 11 levels, it covers from SK/grade 1 to grade 12. So CHELP's Math Level 11 is equivalent to Day school's grade 12.
For the English program, CHELP only have 7 levels, it covers from grade 2 to grade 12.
For the French program, CHELP only have 6 levels, it covers from grade 2 to grade 12.
So this is a normal situation, if the student has to repeat the same CHELP level again next year to learn better and to build a more solid foundation.
Students should be encouraged to “try again” and “not to give up”, in order to improve their marks.
Aptitude Test required:
Since CHELP materials are more advanced than the Day school, ALL new students or returning students who want to take new course, would have to do an aptitude test.
So we can evaluate the students' skill, and determine which of the CHELP’s level is best to assign to the students. A level which is not easy but not way too hard also, so the students can learn at their best with a little of challenge, and able to build a good foundation.
Students must complete the aptitude test without help (showing all steps and No calculator is allowed for MATH test), and just try to do all the questions they know, can skip questions if they don’t.
The questions on the aptitude test are only easy questions from our regular homework, and do not cover all the material taught for the whole year. The purpose of the test is mainly to see if the students have a good foundation of the basic material.

Due to the high volume of classwork/homework access problems when students don't use gmail address. Only gmail address is accepted to receive and access classwork/homework. Extra administration charge of $60 "per course" will be applied if gmail address is not used, due to extra manual processing each week.
