The First-Grade Thank-You Card Coordinator will oversee the preparation, distribution, collection, organization, and display of cards created to thank Cedar Hill police officers and firefighters.
The Changemakers Program Chair will provide the card templates, project instructions, supplies, deadlines, and family communications.
Participate in the coordinator kickoff.
Review the card activity instructions and timeline.
Receive the templates and supplies purchased for the project.
Assemble and label take-home card kits.
Coordinate the distribution of kits.
Answer basic questions about materials, completion, and return.
Direct questions involving changes or exceptions to the Changemakers Chair.
Collect completed cards by the deadline.
Track and organize returned cards.
Separate cards intended for Police and Fire when applicable.
Select or arrange cards for the event display according to the provided plan.
Package all remaining cards for presentation or delivery.
Transport the cards to Community Connections Night.
Set up the first-grade portion of the gallery.
Pack the cards after the event and prepare them for final delivery.
Sept. 23–30: Coordinator registration
Oct. 1-2: Virtual coordinator kickoff (30 min)
Exact meeting time will be coordinated based on selected coordinators’ availability. Individual kickoff sessions may be scheduled if needed.
By Oct. 2: Receive templates, instructions, and supplies
Oct. 3 or 4: Assemble take-home kits
Oct. 5–6: Distribute kits
Oct. 9–16: Fall Break
Oct. 20: Collect completed cards
Oct. 21: Transport, display, pack, and help prepare cards for delivery
