Project #2: That's a Wrap (almost)!
What an incredible effort from our Collegiate Prep Changemakers! From PreK through 5th grade, every scholar played an important role in making our Community Connections & First Responder Appreciation project a success!
Community Connections Night was well attended, and our scholars did an outstanding job demonstrating kindness, teamwork, and leadership. On Monday, October 26, our 3rd-grade Changemakers completed the final phase of the project by assembling appreciation bags for our community heroes.
❤️ Up Next: Appreciation Bag Deliveries!
We'll deliver bags to the Cedar Hill Police Department this week and the Cedar Hill Fire Department next week. A few parent volunteer spots are available! Since deliveries must take place during school hours, our scholars won't be able to attend, but we'll proudly represent them. Interested in joining us? We have some exciting opportunities ahead for our Changemakers to serve, connect, and make a difference!
Project 3: Cedar Hill Citywide Beautification | Saturday, November 14
Join us for a morning of community service with three shifts available at 9, 10, and 11 AM. Registration opens Thurs, 11/5.
Project 4: Annual Horns for Hope Food Drive | November–December
Our December service project kicks off on Mon, Nov 2 - Fri, Nov 13 as we collect food donations from our school community to support the Cedar Hill Food Share pantry. Event Date: Mon, Nov 16th right after school at Collegiate Prep. Registration opens Mon, 11/9. There will be limited spots.
Signature Projects Launching in November!
We're also excited to introduce two ongoing service opportunities:
Grandfriends at Crestview Court: Monthly visits with our senior friends, beginning tentatively Sat, Nov 7, with a fun game of BINGO! Space will be limited each month to about 7-10 families. Registration will open Thurs 10/29 thru Wed 11/4 (or until all spots are filled, whichever comes first).
Little Pantry Support: STARTING THE WEEK OF NOV 9TH - Every other week, 5 families will have opportunities to help stock the Little Pantry outside the Cedar Hill Police Department, supporting neighbors facing food insecurity. Families will sign up via Sign up Genius. More details to follow soon.

All preordered Changemakers T-shirts were delivered last Monday! If you have any questions or concerns regarding your order, please email sales@chcppta.org and allow up to two business days for a response.
Missed the preorder? We have a very limited number of additional shirts available for purchase! You can view/purchase the remaining inventory by clicking here. Once these shirts sell out, no additional orders will be available this school year.

We also have one complimentary Youth XL yellow Changemakers T-shirt available! We'd love to gift it to a Changemaker family who would appreciate having a shirt at no cost (and who does NOT already have this year's shirt).

Do You Know What It Means to be a Changemakers Family?
Changemakers is more than service projects and volunteer hours. Our focus is helping scholars develop leadership skills through kindness, respect, compassion, responsibility and meaningful service. Families are important partners in making that experience successful.
The 2026–2027 Changemakers Family Handbook & Program Expectations is your primary guide to the program, including participation requirements, scholar and family expectations, supervision, volunteering, communication and more.
All families are required to review the Handbook before registering and acknowledge the expectations during registration.
