Leading with Kindness. Growing through Service. A Changemakers Tradition!
The Collegiate Prep Changemakers are proud to continue our 3rd Annual Horns for Hope Holiday Food Drive, a growing tradition of service, compassion, and community impact!
This year, we're rallying the Collegiate Prep community to help provide 100 holiday meal kits for local families served by Cedar Hill Shares Pantry. Through donations, hands-on service, and heartfelt holiday messages, our Changemakers will help bring comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging to neighbors throughout our community.
The holidays are a time of celebration, but for some families, putting a special meal on the table can be a challenge. Horns for Hope reminds our scholars that serving others isn't just about giving things—it's about caring for people.
We encourage parents and guardians to talk with their Changemakers about why this project matters. What does it mean to help a family enjoy a holiday meal? How can a simple card brighten someone's day? And how can small acts of kindness make a big difference when we work together?
During the week of November 16, scholars will participate in age-appropriate service activities:
PreK–2nd Grade | Spreading Holiday Cheer: Our youngest Changemakers will decorate festive AVID holiday letters to share with Grandfriends, Cedar Hill Shares Pantry clients, nursing home residents, and other neighbors throughout the greater Cedar Hill community.
3rd–5th Grade | Helping Hands for Hope: Our older Changemakers will sort, inventory, organize, and pack donated food items in preparation for delivery to Cedar Hill Shares Pantry.
Our goal is to deliver all donations to Cedar Hill Shares Pantry before Thanksgiving Break, ahead of the pantry's November 30 deadline.
Project Date: Monday, November 16
Time: Immediately after school
Location: Collegiate Prep Elementary
From November 2–13, the entire Collegiate Prep community is invited to participate by donating designated food items based on grade level. To add a little friendly competition, the grade that achieves the highest percentage of its collection goal will earn the coveted Golden Horn Award and a special popsicle party in Spring 2027!
Participation is completely voluntary, and every contribution—big or small—brings us closer to our goal.
Together, we're doing more than filling meal kits. We're filling hearts, strengthening our community, and showing our scholars what it means to lead through service.
All In. All Together. ❤️
Event Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2026; Time: 6PM - 8PM

Collegiate Prep PTA will host family games and fun activities, and the Academy & High School PTSA will contribute an additional experience for families. As part of the larger evening, Changemakers will help lead the Community Safety Experience, featuring safety education from the Cedar Hill Police and Fire Departments along with student service projects honoring our local first responders.
The Why. Please watch the video below with your Changemakers to help them understand what they'll be doing and how they'll be serving the community!

During Community Connections Night, families will have the opportunity to explore interactive educational stations presented by the Cedar Hill Police and Fire Departments. Potential topics and activities include bicycle safety, anti-bullying, stranger awareness, fire prevention, CPR, community outreach resources, and other age-appropriate safety lessons.
Families will be able to explore the safety stations at their own pace, visit the Changemakers Safety and Appreciation Gallery, and enjoy the other games, activities, and experiences offered throughout the larger event.
Through this experience, Changemakers will learn that building a safer, stronger community involves more than knowing safety rules. It also means showing appreciation to our brave and courageous first responders, sharing helpful information, serving others, and working together.
