In 2022, our PTA installed a Little Free Library at Longhorn Park, Cedar Hill, TX (just minutes from Prep's campus) in memory of our beloved librarian, Ms. Gena Jackson. Ms. Jackson was passionate about sparking a love of reading in every child, and this library continues her legacy by keeping books accessible to our scholars and families.
How It Works
Take a Book, Leave a Book: Families and neighbors are welcome to borrow a book to enjoy at home and, when possible, return it or replace it with another.
Always Open: The library is free and available year-round for our school and surrounding community.
Why It Matters
Encourages a Love of Reading: Offering stories for all ages right in our schoolyard.
Connects to Our Changemakers Program: Scholars help maintain and stock the library as part of their service projects—leading with kindness, growing through service.
Builds Community: Families, students, and neighbors share not only books, but also connections and conversations.
Get Involved
Donate Books: We welcome gently used children’s, youth, and family-friendly titles.
Visit Often: Each visit brings new stories to discover.
Spread the Word: Snap a photo, tag @CollegiatePrepElementary and @CHCPPTA to share the joy of reading.
