The Cedar Hill Collegiate Prep Elementary PTA (CHCPPTA) was founded in 2015, the same year our school opened its doors. In those early years, we brought families together through school dances, teacher appreciation events, and the ever-popular “popcorn and pickles” fundraisers—laying the foundation for a culture of family involvement and school spirit that still guides us today.
What makes our PTA unique are the signature programs and traditions we’ve built over the years. Since 2020, our PTA has been honored five times as a National PTA School of Excellence and awarded four competitive National PTA program grants in STEM, literacy, health & wellness, and digital safety. Our most recent grant provided 20 free laptops to families in need.
We installed a Little Free Library at our adopted park, Longhorn Park, in memory of our beloved librarian, Ms. Gena Jackson. Longtime board member Mrs. Linda Mason reimagined a simple school dance into the Fall Festival, now a beloved annual celebration carried forward in her honor.
We’ve also been strong advocates for families through efforts like the VATRE Education & Awareness Campaign, helping our community understand the importance of funding our schools.
Through our community service program, Changemakers, scholars contributed more than 800 hours in its first year—serving the homeless, caring for local parks, and leading projects within our school while building leadership, confidence, and responsibility.
Membership has grown from just 30 members at our inception to nearly 300 by the 2024–2025 school year, earning multiple Texas PTA Awards, including the Golden Apple Award (2xs), President’s Challenge Awards, and most recently recognized for Family & Student Engagement impact.
Today, the CHCPPTA is led by a full and active board, supported by a highly engaged school community. Together, we’re proud of how far we’ve come and excited for what lies ahead.
Our story is still unfolding—and every member helps shape the next chapter!
