The NSDA (National Speech and Debate Association) is the largest interscholastic speech and debate organization serving middle school and high school students in the United States. It is also the national authority on public speaking and debate. East is a member school in NSDA. Once a student member earns 25 points, official NSDA membership is $20. Members receive a certificate like the ones displayed in Ms. Vaughn's room. Additional points lead to earning higher degrees, which show up on students' NSDA accounts.
Click "Member Login" in the top right hand corner.
Towards the bottom of the screen there is a "register' button. Click it.
Fill out all of the required information in order to create the account. A captcha may be given.
Sometime afterwards, you will be asked to input your school. Once you fill that out, Ms. Vaughn will get a request to join our roster. Once she approves of the request, you are done for now!
When competition time gets closer, make sure to check out Speechwire and Tabroom. Speechwire is where tournament schematics are located and you may need to talk to Ms. Vaughn for help signing in (she may have to send an invite to activate your account). Tabroom is where online scrimmages and tournament results can be found. You should be able to sign into Tabroom using your NSDA account login info.
Play around with the website(s). Ask the board and/or coaches if you need any help.
