KISS & GO PROCEDURES
In effort to make arrival and dismissal in the Kiss & Go area safe and efficient, there is a need for everyone to follow these procedures:
Morning Procedures
- Please stay in the right-hand lane advancing as much as possible before dropping off your child (children).
- Stay in line behind the car on the right –hand side. It is unsafe to pull around a car to fill in a gap.
- Students should exit the cars on the right-hand side only, which is on the curb. Parents should not exit the car to assist children.
- After dropping off your child, you may fill in the left lane to exit.
- You should not pull back into the lane against the sidewalk after you have been in the left-hand lane. You must go around the circle and enter again, if needed.
- You will not be allowed to park and walk students in on the Kiss-n-Go side of the building.
- The small parking lot area near the flagpole should never be used to drop off students. This is a very unsafe practice.
- Please park in teacher parking lot area, if you choose to park and walk your child into the school. If you choose to use this area, you can not use it to drop your child off. You must walk them in, if you choose to use this area.
- Please be courteous and follow the directions of the volunteers on duty and/or the Student Safety Patrol members.
- Only use the handicap spaces for students who need wheelchair access or for adults who are handicapped and need to walk in. To use this area you must have evidence of a handicap sticker/decal hanging in your vehicle.
- Parents are to bring students into the building and sign them in at the front office when arriving after 7:50. The tardy bell rings at 7:50 and the Kiss & Go Lane will be closed.
Afternoon Procedures
- All students who will be picked up in a car should be picked up in the Kiss & Go Lane. Students will be lined up along the sidewalk by grade.
- All students who will be picked up by a parent who is walking, biking or parking their cars, will stand on the sidewalk near the soccer field and kindergarten classrooms.
- At dismissal time, the Kiss –n-Go lane is only for curbside drop-off and pick-up. This allows our Kiss-n-Go traffic to move much quicker, which means getting everyone home more efficiently.
**It is very important for you to let your child’s teacher know which area you plan to use most days. If this changes, you need to send in a note to the teacher to note the change. Since teachers are teaching most of the day, please give them timely advanced notice.
Please exercise patience during this very hectic time. Our main priority is your child’s safety! ☺
