According to CHCCS School Board Policy 4318, “students are permitted to possess such devices on school property so long as the devices do not create a disruption to instruction, safety, or school operations”, in reference to wireless communication devices. These wireless communication devices include, but are not limited to, cell phones, smart phones, touch screen tablets (I-Pad), Netbooks, laptops, or other devices with Internet capability.
If wireless devices are used without permission during instructional time, a warning will be issued to the students on the first time, and possibly confiscated and given back to the student at the end of the school day. In the case of repeat offenses, the parent/guardian is required to come to the school to collect the device.
For further information on this policy, please refer to School Board Policy 4318.
