About Chatham Reads

The Chatham Reads collaborative was formed in 2015 with the mission that literacy and reading resources would be available to all Chatham County residents. We now have an overarching vision that by 2020, 80% of all Chatham County School students achieve grade-level reading by the end of third grade. Chatham Reads is working to join the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading to achieve this vision. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with this Nationwide Campaign. We have submitted our letter of intent and are currently working on a Community Solutions Action Plan. We have defined three goals: school readiness, prevention of summer slide, and K-3 literacy in order to achieve grade-level reading success for our children. Please read more about the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading HERE and check back for updates on our progress.
