Through the use of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) or the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) standards, students apply technology to create effective, engaging, and efficient instructional design products.

David M. Foster - I am the IT Systems Trainer for a Special Operations organization at Fort Liberty, NC. In addition to IT Training, I am solely responsible for managing the LMS for about 2500 learners. I am nearing completion of my Master’s of Education with a focus in Training and Development. I am a US Army Veteran and spent the last 4 years of my 20 year career as an adult instructor and instructor development manager. I pride myself on contributing high quality work, adding my military experience to the collaboration of the group, ensuring we all obtain the highest level of excellence.
Nelia Guess - I am currently a sixth-grade math teacher, math team lead, and the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year at Kestrel Heights Charter School in Durham, NC. As I approach the final semester of my Master's in Education with a focus on Learning, Design, and Technology and a concentration in Training and Development, I aim to expand my skillset to transition beyond the classroom. I look forward to exploring new career opportunities outside of the school setting in the coming year. My expertise includes behavioral management, classroom management, curriculum and instructional design, data analysis, and effective communication.
PT Thongsamouth - Dynamic and results-driven Process Optimization Advisor with extensive experience in analyzing, developing, and implementing strategies to enhance business processes. Adept at leading cross-functional teams in process improvement initiatives utilizing methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to reduce operating cost and increase profit. Currently pursuing a Master's of Education with a concentration in Training and Development, and an expected graduation date for April 2025. Skills include: training and development, organization development, instructional design, and change management.
Renika Gibson - I am the Learning and Development Manager at Hazen and Sawyer focusing on continuous education, growth, and development of all staff. I'm embarking on my final semester pursuing my Master's of Education concentrating on Learning, Design, and Technology in the corporate space. I've earned over 20 years of experience in facilitation in-person and remotely, content development, instructional design, and project management. I've designed and facilitated a custom course 'DEI in Project Management' for a independent consulting gig and plan to do more in years to come.
Adopted in 2012, the AECT Standards provide guidance for the "ethical study and application of theory, research, and practices to advance knowledge, improve learning and performance, and empower learners through strategic design, management, implementation, and evaluation of learning experiences and environments using appropriate processes and resources."
