New Year 7 Information

Welcome from Mr Croston

We are delighted that you are about to begin the adventure of a new school with us at Chancellor’s School.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you warmly and supporting a positive and exciting start to secondary school life.

Starting secondary school is a fantastic opportunity to experience a whole new range of possibilities. This includes making new friendship groups, the chance to study a wider range of subjects and the opportunity to take part in numerous extra-curricular opportunities, both here and abroad.

The first few weeks will undoubtedly be a little daunting, but the staff are here to help and guide students through the transition process. We hope students will ask if there are aspects they are unsure of and let us know if there are things they need help with.

This site has been devised to help provide some of the information students and parents will need to ensure a smooth transition. The students themselves will be offered much more practical day to day guidance once they have started.

We encourage students to arrive with a ‘can do’ attitude and grasp the huge range of opportunities that we offer, both within and outside the classroom, so they can play a full and active role in this outstanding community.

We have high expectations of the students both academically and in their behaviour. Of equal importance to us is that they are happy, healthy and enjoying school so that they have every chance to succeed.

We are looking forward to getting to know our new students so much better and working in close partnership with your family over the coming years.

Welcome to the Year 7 Transition site. Here you will find all the information you need to guide you through the transition process for you and your child.

Below are links for the information in each section (just click on the titles in blue).   Right at the top of this page you will see an INDEX, here you can find a particular section of information in alphabetical order.

In the Letters and Emails section you will find a copy of all the emails that will have been sent to you through this process.

This site will be updated frequently with new information and dates, so please keep this site in your favourites as it will be your main hub for information.

We are always looking to improve the transition process and if you have any ideas or suggestions please do not hesitate to let us know via this Online Suggestion Form. Whilst we would love to consider all suggestions we may not be able to due to various school policies and strategies that have to take place.
