Jeanne Lucas Memorial Scholarship
Due Date: May 1, 2024
Awards: Multiple $500 winners
Scholarship Information: Seeley Test Pros and the National Test Prep Association are proud to commemorate the life and legacy of Seeley Test Pros' tutor Jeanne Lucas, a founding NTPA member who lost her battle with cancer on February 8th, 2022. Jeanne (Supa J, Word Nerd, Tough Lil’ B, and every other goofy name she ever gave herself) was a gifted educator and mentor, known for her passion for literature and the English language.
As the valedictorian of Austintown Fitch High School Class of 1992 and a graduate of Capital University and Bowling Green State, Jeanne devoted her life to educating and inspiring students. After teaching at Holy Name High School and the Sandusky Public School System, Jeanne became a highly sought-after tutor and mentor for students preparing for advanced prep school and college entrance examinations. She was hard-working, staunchly reliable, loved her job, and logged thousands of miles driving to the remotest locations all over Greater Cleveland to tutor.
Jeanne joined the Test Prep Tribe Facebook group when COVID hit, and it became her second family. She enthusiastically made many new friends, created deep connections with individuals, and became a signature member of the group, declaring “Power of the Tribe!” when working with others. She was everyone’s cheerleader, and the Tribe rallied behind her in her battle with cancer. Jeanne was the first member of the National Test Prep Association, and it became her second family.
The National Test Prep Association has established the Jeanne Lucas Memorial Scholarship in memory of Jeanne’s commitment to education and her love of literature and the English language. This scholarship will provide financial assistance to students pursuing higher education, with a special emphasis on those who demonstrate a commitment to serving their communities through education.
Jeanne is deeply missed by her family, friends, and countless Seeley Test Pros students whose lives she touched through her teachings and mentorship. The National Test Prep Association is grateful for her contributions and proud to establish the Jeanne Lucas Memorial Scholarship in her honor.
