The longest - and arguably the main project - of the PSLA team, the nutrition program is what truly makes PSLA a service club devoted to UN SDG #2 Zero Hunger. The nutrition program is a program in which CI raises funds through various means, such as school fundraisers or contracts with companies, and using the money generated to buy nutritious food for student beneficiaries in the Philippines. As of 2024, we have 150 beneficiaries across the three Filipino schools that are a part of the PSLA.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the nutrition program was temporarily suspended due to the lockdown protocol. However, we still managed to contribute, as seen below.
Over the 2-weeks COVID-19 quarantine, our faculty members have collected unused packaged food that they donated to our club to use for good. Therefore, we decided to contact a local food drive and was able to successfully donate these foods to the food drive for homeless people.
