Chadron Public Schools is a Class III district located in Chadron, NE. Buildings include a preschool, primary (K-2), intermediate (3-4), middle school (5-8), and high school (9-12). The district is Cognia Accredited K-12th grade.
For multiple years, the district has scored high academically. The high school has been recognized by US News and World Report as one of the top high schools in Nebraska and one of the highest-ranked high schools west of Omaha for several years in a row.
The district is located in the northwest corner near the Nebraska National Forest, eight miles north of Chadron State Park and east of historical Fort Robinson. The community is home to Chadron State College. The district has forged strong partnerships with Chadron State College and other ESU #13 schools to provide opportunities for expanded learning for our students.
*Because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, students received free lunches through the federal lunch program beginning in March of 2020 and running through the 21-22 School year. Before the 22-23 school year, that program was discontinued. Several school districts saw a decline in the number of Free/Reduced lunch student count due to that program being available.
