YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!! We made It!!!!

I know I have said it many times, my sincerest “thank you” for your patience, stamina, and diligence through this whole virtual learning experience. I can truly say this is a class I will never forget.

Ms. Lagatutta and I would like to “stop by” tomorrow to say our goodbyes. We plan on starting our rounds after the 4th grade clap-out which starts at 9:30, so our estimated time of arrival should be somewhere between 10:00 and 11:30. I will call (using the number on school file) when we arrive so you can come outside to see us. (Of course masks and social distancing is a must). If you are not comfortable, or this will not work for you, please let me know. I certainly understand.

Do you know your geometry shapes? We will find out during our Zoom meeting today!

ELA (Google Classroom under Memory Book)

You will be making a second grade memory book today. Make sure you begin typing right next to the dots on each slide. Turn it in when you are finished. You can save this on your Google drive.

Handwriting: Show me your signature!

Do you know how to write your first and last name in cursive? Use the lines on page 141 in your Handwriting book to show me. Write your first and last name once on each line (for a total of 6 times). Now you have a signature:)

Optional:

I know many of you visit Long Beach Island during the summer months. The following is an NJEA lesson about Barnegat Bay that I thought might interest you. (It is a third grade lesson, but after tomorrow you will be a third grader:)

I am looking forward to seeing most of you today:)

There is no better way to end our year together than a trip to Disney!

Go to Google Classroom and open “Disney”

  • You can keep a passport for each stop on your Disney tour!
  • Read the passages.
  • Click on the various links to learn about and explore each Disney Park.
  • There are many rides to experience!
  • Watch the videos to see how “Imagineers” have used technology to create these spectacular rides.
  • Meet the characters!
  • Watch the Disney fireworks display!

There is so much to do!! Let’s get started!

Have Fun!!!

SPECIAL: Physical Education Please check Mr. DiChiara’s “Scoop” page

IMPORTANT: Some parents have asked for summer work to help keep their child’s skills sharp. Here are some of my suggestions:

  • I have posted “The Summer Before Third Grade” on Google Classroom (under “Summer Review”). This is a review packet of a variety of second grade skills.
  • I have also posted a suggested summer reading list (under “Summer Review”) on Google Classroom. This list was composed by our district media specialists.
  • You have the last 2 Math workbooks (Chapters 10 & 11) which have been hardly used. You can follow the same Think Central routine we have been using for the past 13 weeks as you go through lesson by lesson.
  • Epic Books is allowing parents free access through the summer months. (You may have to sign up again) There are books available for different levels. If you would like my input as to what level I feel your child should be reading, please reach out.
  • I have updated levels on RAZ Kids...your access will remain the same until the fall.
  • Brain Pop Jr. is available.
  • Complete your Handwriting Book
  • Keep your writing sharp by writing a narrative story! Imagine that a second grader goes to a sleepover and gets homesick. Write a story about what happens. This packet should still be in your folder sent home in March.
  • Practice your math and reading skills on Moby Max ( I believe you will have access all summer)

Have a safe and healthy summer!
