Make-Up Work: If you are absent or missed your class, it is the responsibility of the student to make up all work, tests, and assignments that were missed. Students will be responsible for completing any homework too! (Always check Google Classroom!) When you are absent, you must obtain missed work from Google Classroom and/or email your teacher to check in. If you miss class, but are in school, you must email Mrs. Kelly to hand in any assignments, and obtain the work that you missed, THAT DAY! (Not applicable at this time due to remote learning!)
Assignments & Grading in ELA
You will be completing assignments and getting grades in reading, writing, and word study. At the end of each marking period, your grade in ELA will come from all points earned on assignments, tests, quizzes, projects, and classwork.
Every assignment that we complete will have a point value. Your marking period grades will be determined by the ratio of number of points that you earned for the marking period, to the total number of points available.
All work submitted on time, on the due date discussed will receive full credit. Any work that is late or not turned in on Google Classroom will receive a 1 point deduction. After that assignment is turned in, you're all good! If your work continues to be late or missing, you will receive a 1 point deduction each day that your work is missing, or not done.
If there is a situation that comes up and you need more time, JUST ASK! I understand that life happens and sometimes there are circumstances beyond our control. Please just let me know what you need, and I'll help you out.
