Using Google Classroom

There are 2 ways to access Google Classroom:

  1. Via the website at https://classroom.google.com
  2. By downloading one of the Google Classroom apps
    • Android (make sure you set up your @stu.cfisd.net google account before you try to log into Classroom. See the "Troubleshooting Android" section below.)
    • iPhone

To join a class:

  1. Log into Google Classroom using whichever method you have chosen above.
  2. The first time you log in, you will need to click on “I am a STUDENT” at the bottom of the page.
  3. Now you are ready to join a class. Click on the + sign near your name at the top of the screen:
  4. Enter the class code provided by your teacher.

Troubleshooting Google Classroom

iPhone:

        1. If you get a message saying the account you are logging in from is not a school account, you are probably using more than one account on your phone. Select “Try Another Account” and select your CyFair account.

Android:

        1. The CyFair system applies policies whenever you are logged into a student account, so you have to accept policies that the district will apply. Some android phones require you to download a policy manager to access these policies. Don't freak out! These policies are only in place when you are logged into and using a school account (such as Google Classroom).
        2. BEFORE you set up Google Classroom, make sure your @stu.cfisd.net email account is set up on your phone.
            • Go to Settings
            • Accounts
            • Add Account
            • Google
            • Enter your phone password
            • Enter your school email and password, then just keep clicking next until there are no more changes to make.
            • The policy may make you change their password to a longer one (6 digits).
        3. If you get an error message saying “Your admin hasn't activated Classroom…”
            • Swipe down from the top of the screen to get to the notification center.
            • You should see a Google Account Action waiting, click through it (see step 2)
            • You may not have made a change that the district policy required, or have tried to log in directly through Classroom without setting up the account first.
