• hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university as demonstrated by an official  transcript.  (An applicant may also request an associate degree from their four-year institution).
  AND

• who have successfully completed an approved substitute training program.

• Is enrolled in a Wisconsin preparation program approved by the state superintendent.

• Is at least 20 years of age

• Has successfully completed a minimum number of credits to have achieved junior status if enrolled in an approved preparation  program leading to a bachelor's degree,
  AND

• Has completed 15 hours of classroom observation

The CESA 7 Virtual Substitute Teacher Preparatory Program is a fully online experience designed to prepare participants to be effective substitute teachers. This flexible program allows you to begin at any time and complete coursework at your own pace. 

Participants receive access to the Master Teacher online learning platform, where they will complete the Foundations of Effective Substitute Teacher Training courses. Upon completion, CESA 7 provides a step-by-step guide to assist with the DPI licensing application process.

Participants with licensure questions may also schedule a virtual meeting with our Licensing Coordinator for additional support.
