About Nancy...

“Learning is finding out what you already know. Doing is demonstrating that you know it. Teaching is reminding others that they know just as well as you. You (we) are all learners, doers, teachers.” -Richard Bach

Nancy retired in 2020 after 27 years as an elementary school principal,  three with the Green Bay Catholic Diocese and 24 with the Green Bay Area Public School District, where she continues to fill in as a school administrator.  She currently mentors an aspiring school leader through Catholic Link. She lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin with her husband and can usually be found reading, watercolor painting, sewing, gardening, knitting, singing and e-biking.

Over the years Nancy has supervised student teachers through Northern Michigan University and Western Governors’ University and teaches courses for  the CESA 7 TDC Program. She does this because she finds great joy in working with the scholars by supplementing their professional practice with theory and opportunities for authentic application in their desired area of certification. Through this work, she has the privilege of nurturing the profession while deepening her own understanding along the way.

One of her most impressive professional achievements is the transformation of Webster Elementary School in Green Bay to Webster Elementary Children’s Center for Integrated Arts, and the ArtSmart Program. The hallmarks of the school program include the study of piano/violin twice weekly during the school day for students in grades 2-5, and the integration of visual arts/music/ drama and core academic subjects with learning objectives in all.  Since the program began in 2013, the Wisconsin State Report Card score moved up three full proficiency bands and Webster has become a personal pathway school. The Arts do make a difference!

Nancy graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a double major in Human Biology and Elementary Education.  She received her Master of Arts degree in Education Leadership from Marian College in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
