Pete was born in Nebraska City and raised in Omaha. Ricketts graduated from Westside High School then attended the University of Chicago earning a MBA in marketing and finance. After graduate school, Ricketts returned to Omaha and worked for Union Pacific.

Pete Ricketts was Nebraska’s 40th Governor. He was first elected to office after winning the Nebraska gubernatorial election on November 4, 2014. Prior to his election as governor, he worked to support Nebraska entrepreneurs and startup companies.

Pete Ricketts works hard to lower health care. He supports expanding health savings accounts; but is opposed to embryonic stem cell research and human cloning. The Ricketts administration works with the DHHS and they revealed poor performance in its nurse licensing process, the Ricketts administration implemented significant reforms to provide better service to Nebraska’s front line health professionals. Reforms included simplified applications, improved instructions, and it reaches out to nurses.

Ricketts also believes that we need to secure the border. We must leverage technology, enforce our laws, and give employers tools to know who is legal. He would support a compromise solution that holds illegal immigrants accountable. Ricketts also believes that if we increase border security, we will stop the flow of illegal drugs.

Bob was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated with honors from Creighton Preparatory School then later attended the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, Then later joined the Air Force, in 2000 he graduated from the Air Force in the rank of lieutenant and Joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a pilot. Krist left the Republican party in 2017 and switched to Democratic party in 2018.

Bob spent 21 years in the Air force and 10 years in the Nebraska Legislature.

Bob is fighting to lower property taxes because he feels as if our property taxes have gotten out of control. They will restore the balance of paying for education by increasing state aid in exchange for the reduction of property taxes used to fund education. Krist and Walz want to reform the tax system so it is fair to hard-working Nebraskans.

He is also trying to make healthcare affordable. The Krist-Walz administration will say yes to healthcare coverage for 90,000 Nebraskans through Medicaid expansion. He will also be strong advocate for the rural health system and understand the need to ensure its financial stability. Krist is the a father of a special needs daughter and he truly understands the importance of the programs serving our special needs community and will be their strong advocate as their governor.
