Things You Need

Shoes

All winds, pit and drumline must wear black Drillmaster marching shoes. We have a shoe representative visit at the end of the school year. He brings shoes for students to try on and orders are taken at that point. The shoes are shipped to the school and distributed during the summer. Please pay with check, card or exact change. If you do not order the shoes with the band order, you can still order them, but will have to pay shipping.

Band Shirt

All band members must purchase at least one of the current year’s t-shirts. These are worn under their uniform at each performance. Students will also wear them on occasion for pep rallies or other events. It is highly suggested that students order more than one so that you always have one clean for those weeks when we might have more than one performance. This shirt is different every year and has a picture that goes with the theme of the main halftime show. The back normally has the names of all the band members. The shirt color varies from year to year, sometimes grey and sometimes light blue.

Band Shorts

All winds, pit and drumline must purchase a pair of CV Band basketball shorts. The shorts currently come with pockets, which is convenient during games. These shorts are worn under the uniform and also used as a warm weather uniform when it is extremely hot. These shorts are the same every year, so once they are purchase, you will not have to buy another pair unless you need a different size, lose them, or need to replace them for some reason.

White Gloves

Wind players, and sometimes pit members, are required to purchase a pair of white gloves to be worn with the uniform. There are two options. Each student can receive one pair of free white gloves. These can be seen as the left pair in the picture. They are very thin and do not last a long time. They are also available for purchase for $2. Option 2 are $5 and come with velcro around the wrists and grippers on the palms. I highly suggest purchasing the nicer gloves, as seen on the right side of the picture. I also suggest buying multiple pair to get you through the season. Gloves often become dirty and sweaty.

Black Socks

Every wind/pit/drumline member must wear a pair of blacks socks to each performance. These socks must go at least halfway up the calf. I suggest getting socks that go to the knee. Ankle socks are not permitted.

CV Band Bag

This bag is a suggested item but is not required. The drawstring bag can be used to put your marching shoes in and keep inside your uniform bag so that your uniform does not get dirty from the shoes. You can also use it for other items, like carrying water, drill, music and other items to and from practice. The bag will have a CV Band design on it (not the design that is pictured).

Concert Band Attire

For concert band performances, the students wear a “uniform” that is all black. Specifications are:

  1. Any black shoe, black socks if needed (marching shoes would work)
  2. Black full length dress pants (no yoga pants, leggings, or black jeans)
  3. Black, long sleeve, button-up dress shirt (girls can wear a girl-style button-up shirt)
  4. Any undershirts must be black

These items can be found in many of the local stores, and I have seen them in WalMart in the mens and womens sections. If anyone needs assistance, please let me know. We do have some in storage that can be borrowed. Also, if anyone has any they would like to donate, please send them in.
