Honors Ensembles
District 5 Honors Band 2021
The PMEA District 5 Honors Band is an ensemble in which students from Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer Counties have the opportunity to practice solo repertoire and audition for a chair in the band. It is held at Westminster College, with auditions held in November and the festival taking place in December.
This year, Mya Hazelwood (clarinet) and Dylan Shiel (euphonium) represented Central Valley. Congratulations!
District 5 Band 2022
PMEA District 5 Band is a concert band festival held each year. Students from Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties are chosen to participate. During this festival, performers must audition on their concert music to advance to the next level of festivals in PMEA, Region I Band.
This year's festival was held at New Castle High School. Mya Hazelwood (clarinet), Stephanie Montini (horn), and Nathan Noel (clarinet) represented Central Valley.

District 2, 3 and 5 Orchestra 2019
PMEA Districts 2, 3 and 5 combine each year to hold their PMEA District Orchestra festival.
This year's festival was held at McDowell Intermediate High School and Whitney Domico (violin) and Olivia Maccaglia (trombone) participated from CVHS.

District 9th Grade Band 2022
Each year, PMEA District 5 hosts a junior high festival in which students in grade 9 can participate and perform with others from Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer counties.
Students who represented Central Valley this year were Paige Phillips (flute), Hope Ganoe (clarinet), Dylan Shiel (euphonium), and Ben Schurr (trumpet). Congratulations on a job well done!
Beaver County Band 2019-2020
Beaver County Band is a concert band festival in which the directors from schools in the county send students to participate in a two day festival, ending with a concert to perform the music they prepared.
Beaver hosted this year's festival in November. Jessica Bobeck (flute), Alex Vuckovich (oboe), Zoe Rowland (bassoon), Brenna Manuel (saxophone), Stephanie Montini (horn), Christian Kosinski (trumpet), Colin Wilson (trombone), Abby Cowie (euphonium), and John Reese (percussion) attended from CVHS.
Great job done by all!
2019 NAFME All-Eastern Honors Orchestra
Olivia Maccaglia, a senior trombone player, was selected to perform with the 2019 NAFME All-Eastern Orchestra. The ensemble will consist of students from twelve states. To qualify, Olivia had to first attend the PMEA All-State Orchestra last spring. She then submitted an audition to be chosen for the ensemble.
Over the past four years, Olivia has attended numerous honors ensembles throughout Pennsylvania, including Beaver County Band, District 5 Honors Band, District 5 Band, Region I Band, District Orchestra, Region Orchestra, and the PMEA All-State Orchestra. She performs with CV's marching, concert and jazz bands, has played in the orchestra for the school's musicals, and performs with local community groups, including the Beaver County Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Olivia serves as a section leader in the band and has participated in NHS, German Club, the Beaver County Youth Ambassador Program, and has volunteered at the Center at the Mall.
The 2019 NAFME All-Eastern Honors Orchestra will be performing at The David Lawrence Convention Center on Sunday, April 7 at 2 PM. Congratulations Olivia!
