Section of the Week:

• Member of section of the week - 5 points

• Section leader of section of the week - 2 additional points

• Honorable mention - 2 points

Challenges:

Special Bands:

• State band - 35 points

• Region band - 15 points

• District band, District 9th grade band - 10 points

Other:

• Pass-offs - 10 or 5 points as assigned (drum majors receive total points assigned to members of the band)

• Changing instruments to help the band (once during band career) - 10 points

• Performance on any instrument outside of school (extra points form) - 10 points

• Attending a concert or band related activity (submit program and form) - 5 points

• Parents attending a band parent meeting - 1 point for 1 parent, 3 for 2 parents

Band Member 3rd Class (Letter, Pin) - 150 points

Band Member 2nd Class (CV Band pin, bar) - 160 points and earned band member 3rd class in a previous year

Band Member 1st Class (Plaque, bar) - 170 points and earned band member 2nd class in a previous year

Master Band Member (Trophy, bar) - 180 points and earned band member 1st class in a previous year

Band Jacket (BPO pays for half of your jacket) - 300 total accumulated points and band member 3rd class (you may still purchase your jacket after earning your letter, or you can wait until you earn half of the cost by earning the 300 points)

Blanket - 1000 total accumulated band points over entire band career, must be a senior and earned master band member.

-Students must earn the specified number of points in ONE year for each award. For example, you cannot take 2 years to earn 75 points in one year and 75 points in another to earn Band Member 3rd Class.

-If a student is within 10 points of an award by the end of March, he/she shall receive the award.

Home Practice Form - Submit one form for each week of the month with a parent's signature. A student can earn points for practicing on their own at home on the instrument they perform on in marching band, concert band and jazz band. Color guard and majorettes can earn individual practice points for practicing their flag and baton routines at home.

Private Lesson Form - Submit one form per month with private instructor's signature. A student can earn points for taking private lessons on any musical instrument (or dance/baton for color guard and majorettes)

Extra Points Form - Submit one form for any outside school performance, music camp attended, concert attended (with program from the concert)

**Only points for the current month will be accepted.**

**Any points forms turned in after the 1st of the following month will not be counted.**
