Marisa Lopez, Self Portrait
Photoshop, 2019
The goal of this project was to create an image in photoshop that represents myself and make it a self portrait. I wanted to create something that represents me and makes me happy. I chose to put images of art I’ve created because it represents me and the type of art I like to create. Looking for images of myself was the hardest part because I wanted to find something that matched the style of my self portrait. I originally wanted to do a collage and have myself be the center and I did kind of do that but with less images as the background. I did do 4 different sketches of similar things and overall decided to combine them to get the layout of my finished project. I picked the images because it represents my art which represents a little bit of me. I chose the font and quote because it was something I liked. I selected this font because I liked it and I thought it went well with my type of fancy style. I chose this quote from Picasso because it spoke to me more than other quotes about art. Art comes from the soul and when it is created you pour out a piece of yourself when making it. I am post pleased about matching the background to the colors of my shirt, I also like how I made the outline of the black and white images, myself, and the quote the only color so it adds so contrast and makes it stand out. However, if I could start over I would find a better font to use my quote so it would be easier to read.
Marisa Lopez, Film fest
Photoshop, 2019
The design project objective is to create a poster design to advertise the film festival. I planned on making a red carpet as my idea but I did not originally plan on having lights in the background or having the words outlined. I knew what message I had to put in the work though. The message is advertising the film festival. Not only did the words help contribute to the message but the theme with the red carpet helps relate to film. It seems like a creative design idea, of course, that is just my opinion. I chose this text because it’s simple and easier to read than a fancy font that is difficult to read. I do like the Hollywood lights in the background and how I made it look like a movie premiere. I did like how I outlined the words so you could see and read them better. I like it because it all uses unity together. If I could start over I would change the color of the background so it doesn’t look so dull.
Marisa Lopez, Propaganda poster
Photoshop, 2019-2020
The main idea of the project was to create a poster for a cause, something with a meaning that could alert and connect the people with things in the world that could be a problem. I used a lot of different shadings for the colors pink and purple to emphasize femininity. I used contrast around the bubble letters to make the words stand out. I think the bold colors really show significance to why it is important. It makes it stand out and grab your attention to get the cause. Saying "look at me I'm important." I used repetition using the women. I used the same woman 4 times but added on different things to show that we are all equal and beautiful. I used a simpler font so it would be easier to get the message. I used all caps for some words that were the main message, to make it come across more clearly. I had to bend some of the words and make an arc to see the information/facts more clearly. I think the message I used was a good topic since it is a hard issue half of the population faces (women). I like the message I used. I think it's an important topic in today's modern day society that I think everyone needs to pay attention to. I like the color scheme that I used to emphasize the femininity. The facts I used did take some research but I think it makes the message more important with the facts. I would change the font size so it would be easier to read. I would make the text on the top left corner in the bubble a little bigger so it wouldn't be so small and difficult to read.
